Derrick McKnight (left), Founder and President of Minds of Men, was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, and has called Philadelphia, PA, home for over two decades. During his time in Philadelphia, Derrick has dedicated himself to mentoring and actively participating in numerous community initiatives. His work focuses on motivational speaking for individuals battling addiction and those affected by mass incarceration.

Derrick is a Certified Behavior Specialist and holds additional certifications in the WRAP Program (Wellness Recovery Action Plan), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma 101. Leveraging his expertise, personal experiences, and passion for service, Derrick facilitates Empowerment Groups across various platforms, including substance abuse facilities, shelters, encampments, and mental health centers.

Driven by his personal mantra, "This is my passion, my purpose," Derrick has transformed his vision into action through Minds of Men, a grassroots organization devoted to fostering hope, empowerment, and transformation within underserved communities.
